To have the Vietnamese partner join them in their home country (like in Germany, US) – as we not it is just so hard to get someone with a citizenship from an Asian country over to the EU or North America

Option 1: How to Marry a Vietnamese woman in Vietnam

This is one viable option to marry right in Vietnam.
The usual requirements are:

Your single status certificate from your home country
Your health check – yes, the Vietnamese government wants to see whether you are mentally well for getting married (I kid you not)
Your passport

Usually, there are can be quite a hassle with getting those certificates translated and authenticated for the Vietnamese government apart from the long process – usually a lot of coffee money (bribery) is required in Vietnam when communicating with government officials.

Option 2: How to Marry a Vietnamese woman in the USA, EU (your home country)

Marrying a Vietnamese woman in the US can be quite difficult.

This starts with her coming over to the US and requires a travel visa – this may already be as hard to just getting married.

Option 3: How to Marry a Vietnamese woman in Denmark

Marrying a Vietnamese woman in Denmark can actually be a good and easy process.
The problem as in option 2 is that your partner would need a visa to the EU to go to Denmark.

Once in Denmark it can actually be a very good option especially if you want to bring her over to your home country because a marriage in Denmark is valid in the EU and also in North America.

Option 4: How to Marry a Vietnamese woman in Hong Kong

Marrying a Vietnamese woman in Hong Kong can have two advantages:

Advantage 1: It is internationally recognized just like in Denmark.
This makes it better than option 1, in particular if you want to bring her back to your home country.
In case you care about it being fast (a Hong Kong marriage just takes 5 days) and after registration can be conducted in the same month.

Advantage 2: It is easier to get a travel visa to Hong Kong for a Vietnamese

Filipino citizens can enter Hong Kong visa-free for 14 days.
Unfortunately, this rule still does not apply to Vietnamese citizens.

This means a Vietnamese needs to apply for travel visa to enter Hong Kong. But usually if you fufill certain criterias it should be fairly easy. Either way it will be certainly easier than getting a visa to Denmark.

1 – Can I marry a Vietnamese woman in the US?

Yes, you can, but it will be quite hard if she is not already living there. If she is, then it should be usually the regular process.

2 – Can I marry a Vietnamese woman in Denmark?

Yes, this is entirely possible.
But do make sure that she is able to enter Denmark on a tourist visa before spending money on a marriage in Denmark

3 – Can I marry in Vietnam as a foreigner?

It depends.
If you want to marry another foreigner, then no (at least we have not heard that it is possible). For this case we recommend to either go to your home country or if both are from different countries, we would recommend to marry in Hong Kong as it is recognized internationally.
